The 3D Timeline project, titled "Disco Amore: A Love Affair with 70s Italo Disco," explores the rich history of Italian disco culture from the 1970s to the present day. Beginning with extensive historical research, the project highlights key moments through eight points on the timeline, focusing on three main categories: characters, performances, and fashion influences.
The exhibition space is divided into two main sections: the tunnel featuring the 3D timeline and an interactive area. Visitors start their journey at the main entrance, progressing through the interactive section.
FLOOR PLAN
Key materials, colors, and lighting effects has been selected to enhance the project. This includes incorporating elements such as neon lights, brushed steel, vibrant red gloss, luxurious velvet for curtains, stools, and sofas, as well as red glossy tiles. The overall style of the space will reflect a slightly extreme aesthetic, mirroring the boldness of Italo disco culture.
The exhibition begins with the 3D Timeline tunnel featuring a prominent neon title at the end. Divided into two sides, the left showcases the history and characters of Italo Disco, with text accompanied by sound stations playing '70s disco hits. On the right, the Fashion installation displays iconic pieces from that era, with visuals from fashion shoots or runways. These elements serve as a partition between the tunnel and the interactive area, with displays illustrating from both sides and rotating mannequins for optimal viewing, such as showcasing Fiorucci's iconic disco pieces.
Behind the merchandising area there should be six cabins, each interrupted by mirrors. These cabins are divided into two activities: Fashion Photobooths and Dancing Experience. The Fashion Photobooths offer visitors a selection of vintage '80s clothing and accessories to wear for souvenir photos. The Dancing Experience cabins feature video booths where visitors can dance and record short clips of their moves.
The exhibition culminates in a bar corner, in collaboration with Campari Company, providing visitors with a unique opportunity to enjoy refreshments without re-entering the exhibition space. '80s-inspired cocktails will be served, featuring popular options from that era alongside DJ sets to maintain the atmosphere. Adjacent to the bar, an immersive audiovisual installation celebrates iconic performances from the period through photographs, vintage TV clips, interviews, and memorable choreographies.
